Deanna Grey - South Australian Model

Tell us about yourself for those that don’t know you?

Well, I am Deanna Grey, and first and foremost I am a supermum to five amazing children. I am also a dancer/actress/singer/model, all of which I have recently returned to after a brief hiatus. I started out in the adult entertainment industry as a dancer/model all the way back in 2009, and progressed to competing in 2010. My dance titles include Miss Centrefold Oceania 2010, Miss Nude South Australia Entertainer Of The Year 2015, Miss Nude World Best Dancer 2019, in which I was also the Cover model, as well as a two-page Centrefold and Miss Nude Western Australia Most Sensual and Erotic 2019.

Also in 2019 I was convinced on a very short-notice whim to enter Miss Inked Beauty Australia, and won the titles of Best In Round, Supreme Queen, and Division Queen for my division! Following that very happy accidental chain of events, I was then published in the American “Inside Out Babes” magazine in 2020, and that definitely assisted in my confidence in modelling. Of course, following that we were locked down for the better part of a few years, which led me to pursue more work online.

When did you get your first tattoo, please describe it and have you added anything to it?

I got my very first tattoo over my heart, following a rather rough few years both personally and professionally, in May of 2018. My artist, the amazing Adrian Brailsford, had a first draft of the design I wanted ready to go when I came in to my appointment and changed languages on him, requesting instead to have “This too shall pass” in my native Russian language instead of the English version originally planned, and in an entirely different font. Adrian was absolutely amazing both in switching up the design at the last minute (this would not be the last time he would have to do this in the course of tattooing me, but executing it to absolute perfection while working with a different language in an Old English font!

Though nothing has been added to that tattoo, I have added other bits and pieces including a nude fairy on my left ankle, the mask of Guy Fawkes complete with daggers and a rose, with the inscription “Remember, remember…” on my left calf, “Lucky You” in the style of Harley Quinn exactly where you would expect, and “My Life Michael” in Futhark runes on my left shoulder - currently my most sentimental piece, as my late husband got the matching inscription with my name on his left shoulder, and mine has now become an everlasting tribute to his memory.

Which is your favourite tattoo that you have had done, please describe it and what sort of meaning it has for you?

I have two favourites which I can’t choose between. One being my very first tattoo over my ribs - It continues to have a very significant meaning behind it, in that the quote of King Solomon’s ring reminds us that even the most difficult times will pass, and it will all work out in the end. And, of course, my left shoulder tattoo, which my husband and I got together, shortly after which we decided to skip a big wedding and instead elope as quickly as possible in our own backyard. Unfortunately my husband passed away just under four years ago, but I still feel like he is the angel on my shoulder that guides me through any rough times I may go through now, as well as serving as a very meaningful tribute to our time

together.

What is the most painful tattoo you have had done, please describe the tattoo and its meaning. How many sessions did it take to complete?

This one is a bit funny. When I told people I was getting my first tattoo on my ribs, everyone told me I was crazy as that is one of the most painful spots. Surprisingly, it wasn’t! My most painful tattoo was also my longest - it was the Guy Fawkes piece on my left calf, which I got to commemorate my Birthday - Remember, remember; And it wasn’t so much painful as it was my longest, biggest piece, and my only piece so far that required a fair amount of shading (the rest of my tattoos are mostly linework), which takes time and a lot of going over the same spots many times, which ultimately results in a nails-on-a-chalkboard type feeling on the skin. Towards the last hour I was definitely biting down on my clothing, but I continue to pride myself on never using numbing cream on any of my tattoos.
