Maze - NSW Model

Tell us a bit about yourself for those that doesn’t know you?

Hi, I’m Maze, but online I go by Honeybee. I’m an old soul who finds peace in nature especially birdwatching and I’m an avid reader. I have a pretty diverse life. When I’m not participating in photography or figure modelling you will find me in the lab. I have a degree in Animal Science and work as a research assistant in the medical industry. I like to keep things balanced.

What made you want to become a model, when did you start and how did you get into it?

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for femininity and self-expression, and modeling allows me to channel that creatively through photography. My mum was always snapping pictures of me as a kid, so I guess it’s in my blood. I officially started in March 2023, though.

Describe to us what your first photo shoot was like and how you have grown from it?

My first shoot was at a photographer’s home studio, so it was super chill. I was awkward as hell at first and didn’t know what to do with my body! Studio shoots still make me a bit nervous, but I’ve definitely become way more confident, daring, and creative since then.

What is the craziest thing that has happened to you while on set of a photo shoot?

Honestly, nothing too wild has happened. Outdoor shoots tend to be more interesting because you’re at the mercy of the elements. I’ve had a couple of close calls with spiders while changing, but they don’t bother me, nature has its surprises, I guess!

Cosplay is the theme, who would you want to become and why. If you also had one super power to add, what would it be and what would you do with it?

I’m all about dark, feminine energy so Catwoman is definitely my vibe. She’s fierce, sexy, and knows how to use her powers of seduction. As for a superpower, the ability to talk to animals would be amazing. Who wouldn’t want to hear what they have to say?

What have some of your biggest hurdles been to get yourself where you are in your career and what has been your biggest achievement?

Post-graduation job hunting in the “vanilla” world? A nightmare. As a freelance model, though, dealing with Instagram censorship is the struggle we all know too well. My biggest achievement so far has to be landing on a front cover for a magazine and being featured in the 2025 Baddass Babes calendar. Feeling pretty proud of that!

Let us look at your tattoos, when did you get your first tattoo, describe it and have you added anything to the tattoo.

I got my first tattoo at 16 and a half (with my mum’s special permission and had to get a stat declaration!). It’s a sugar skull on my left thigh, and let’s just say that started my addiction. Since then, I’ve added more on my legs, a side piece, a sleeve on my left arm, and I’ve even started a sleeve on my right.

Which is your favourite tattoo that you have had done, please describe it and what sort of meaning it has for you?

My latest one is definitely my favourite. It’s a portrait of my dog Honey, who passed away. It’s a way for me to keep her memory alive, and she’ll always be with me.

What is the most painful tattoo you have had done, please describe the tattoo and its meaning. How many sessions did it take to complete?

Hands down, the dragon on my right side. That rib area? Oof. The dragon symbolizes strength, power, wisdom, and protection, values I try to embody in my own life. It took seven sessions to complete, with the outline session lasting around four hours. Every other session after that, I could only last two and a half hours.

Your next tattoo, what have you decided on and where on your body is it going plus what type of meaning does it have for you?

I’ve been toying with a few ideas. I’d like to finish the sleeve on my right arm, but I’ve also been thinking about getting a Phoenix on my back. They’re a symbol of resilience and transformation. There’s something incredibly powerful about the idea of rebirth, and I’ve always loved Fawkes the Phoenix from Harry Potter.

Any big plans for the year so far and what challenges lay ahead for you?

Not much big planned yet I’m just focusing on boosting my savings and setting up some passive income streams. Oh, and more shoots on the horizon, of course! So, stay tuned by following me on Instagram @h0neybee.jpg_ As for challenges, I’m hoping there won’t be any major ones. I like to stay prepared and optimistic.
